Description

Scarlett have a long association with New Waverley stretching back to Mountgrange in the early 2000’s.

Following acquisition of the site by Artisan, Scarlett sold the residential part of the site to Queensberry Properties Limited (QPL).

QPL built out New Waverley South as Private Residential For Sale, leaving New Waverley North, consented for 81 homes, available as a site. Scarlett placed the site under offer on behalf of an Institutional Fund as a Forward Funding for BTR; this sale was subsequently thwarted by Rent Control in 2022; the Fund withdrew.

Scarlett took the site to VITA in 2023 and ultimately acquired the site from QPL on a subject to planning basis for PBSA. Consent was achieved for 267 beds and the site was acquired.

In September 2026 McAleer & Rushe announced the successful completion of the 267-bed development for VITA at New Waverley, Edinburgh, delivered in time for the 2026 academic year.
