Back to Black – Citylets Quarterly Report Q4 2023

The Citylets Rental Report for Q4 2023 is out now recording another double digit rise for Scottish open market rents. Of the major cities, Aberdeen posted the strongest annual rise with both Edinburgh and Glasgow seeing their rate of growth ease.

Meanwhile 2023 overall was a disastrous year for housing provision in Scotland, in which the number of new build homes started, decreased by 25%. There are several contributing factors; the fact that local authority new build starts decreased by 50%, highlights the essential role played by the private sector to solve the housing crisis.
